六座宏偉的雕像現在雄踞於Campania的天空的輪廓。

Six majestic statues now dominate the skyline of Campania.

祂們的安裝標誌着耗資高達10億元（$1 billion）的塔州中國佛教廟宇和文化公園的工程的開始。

Their installation marks the start of work on a Tasmanian Chinese Buddhist Temple and Cultural Park that could cost up to $1 billion.

王信得大師說此公園將會有廟宇、展覽廳、一座大學、住宿、餐廳、老年護理設施和開大會的地方。

Master Xin De Wang says the park will feature temples, exhibition halls, a university, accommodation, a restaurant, aged-care facility and conference venue.

四尊七米高的天王和兩尊四米高的石獅像，每尊重達19噸，全部從中國運來安置在這塊接近Richmond的106公頃的場地。

Four 7m-tall heavenly kings and two 4m lion statues, weighing about 19 tonnes each, have been shipped from China and placed on the 106ha site near Richmond.

摩托駕駛員在Tea Tree 路兩旁的新邊線把車慢下來，瞻仰雕像的宏偉。

Motorists slow their cars or stop in new verges on either side of Tea Tree   Rd to admire the grandeur of the statues.

這將會是第一座塔州佛教廟宇，   王大師說此公園會反映中國文化。

It will be the first Tasmanian Buddhist temple and Master Wang said the park would reflect Chinese culture.

 “不僅僅是佛教文化，而且更是中國的整體文化。”祂說。

“Not just Buddhist culture but the whole of Chinese culture,” he said.

場地上將會有一座向所有人開放的大學，祂說。

An on-site university would be open to all, he said.

“我們的希望和意圖是全世界所有人都會來這裡學習。”

“It is our hope and intention that people will come from all over the world to study here.

“這裡將會有不同層次的住宿。比如，我們希望提供一座四星級的酒店。”

“There will be different levels of accommodation. For example, we hope to offer a four-star hotel.”

此公園將會有宏偉的入口大門。

The park will feature grand entrance gates.

“此大門的中文名字是天，意思是天堂。所以進入大閘的人們的感覺，好像是第一次看見天堂，進入天堂，”祂說。

“The Chinese name for these gates is tian, which means heaven. So the impression for those entering the gates is like seeing heaven for the first time, entering heaven,” he said.

王大師說此建築群將需要許多年。

Master Wang said construction would take many years.

“我們最初的估計是200年來完成，但現在我們的印象，可能可以縮短至30年，或者甚至是20年，如果一切順利的話。”

“Our initial estimate was to give it 200 years to be finished but now we get the impression it may be possible to shorten the time to 30 years or even 20 years if all goes well.”

南中地市長Tony Bisdee說市委已經收到將土地從農地改變用途為特別目的的申請。

Southern Midlands Mayor Tony Bisdee said the council had received an application to rezone the land from rural to special purpose.

“此（公園）即使不能成為州重要項目，也起碼有潛力成為地區性重要項目，”他說。

“This has the potential to be a project of at least region if not state significance,” he said.

“這可能是一項重要的旅遊吸引點。”

“It could be a major tourist attraction.”

鄰居農民Craig和Sally Williams一直對文化公園持強烈的反對。昨天Williams先生拒絕評論。

Neighbouring farmers Craig and Sally Williams have been strong opponents of the cultural park. Yesterday Mr. Williams declined to comment.

雕像在5月15日有一項盛大的開幕。

There is a grand opening for the statues on May 15.
