Thank you very much. And if I could just take a few minutes to acknowledge these special guests assembled here tonight...... No, I won't do that.

But to say how delighted I am to be here this evening with you all. My wife Nichola and children are greatly honoured to be with you all this evening. This is a special occasion for the people of China, and our very special relationship that we have with that country, and those from China who live in our country, and particularly our beautiful State of Tasmania.
我非常高兴能够和各位在此共渡这个晚上，内子Nichola以及孩子们都非常荣幸今晚与诸位共聚。对中国人、对我们与中国的非常特别的关系、对居住在我们国家，特别是我们美丽的塔州的华人来说，春节是非常特殊的节日。
So rather than acknowledge all those who have already been mentioned, I do want to just briefly mention some very important representatives of our community who are here tonight.
我不再向刚才司仪已经介绍过的各位一一致意了，但是我想略略提一提今晚在座的，我们社团之中一些很重要的代表。
Firstly, to also acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of this land──Aunty Eva, thank you for your Welcome To Country, to acknowledge their past, cultures and traditions, and indeed as the current and future custodians of the land upon which we gather tonight.
首先，我向这块土地的传统主人以及保管者致意──Aunty Eva，感谢您欢迎我们来到这个国家；并承认我们今晚聚会的这块土地上的［土著］历史、文化以及传统，以及现在和未来的保管人。
I do want to acknowledge and also pay tribute to those from China with their extraordinary culture and ancient, historic and most deeply rich cultural traditions which are so important to the people of China, but which also have an important place in our hearts here in Tasmania.
我亦希望对来自中国的人们致意和致敬——中国人有着非凡的文化，以及古老、历史悠久而深刻多彩的文化传统——这对中国人而言非常重要，但同时在这里，在我们塔州人心中，也有着重要的地位。
I want to acknowledge also Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells for attending tonight, coming to our state from New South Wales to be with us representing the Prime Minister, it is a great honour to have you here this evening as well.
我亦希望向今晚在座从新州远道而来，代表总理的参议员Concetta Fierravanti-Wells致意，很荣幸您今晚能够出席。
And in addition to all the representatives of state, local and federal government who are here tonight, demonstrating our appreciation and recognition of importance of our Chinese connections, I must single one out, and that is our Senator Lisa Singh, who is also celebrating her birthday today.
除此之外，在今晚聚首一堂，显示我们对中国关系的欣赏及认同之州政府、地方政府以及联邦政府的各位代表之中，我必需要点出一位——那就是今天庆祝她生日的参议员Lisa Singh。

We thought that 2014 was a wonderful year for our enhanced relations with the Chinese. It was the year where not only have we seen a record number of visitors to this State from China, which as Minister for Tourism I am delighted to see, but one most special, in fact, two, most special visitors, President Xi Jin Ping and Madam Peng Li Yuan, who visited last year with many alongside them from The People’s Republic of China who were interested in coming to our state and seeing what a magnificent place it is to visit, and to invest.
我们认为2014年对于我们深化和中国的关系而言，是很精彩的一年。在此一年中，不仅是我们州的中国旅客人数有了创新的记录（我作为旅游局长是很高兴见到的），我们更迎来了一位，其实是两位，最为非凡的贵宾——习主席及彭夫人，以及随行来自中华人民共和国的，有兴趣来到我们的州，目睹它是如此壮丽的旅游及投资的地方的诸位。
It was a most historic occasion and one which I believe attracted not only worldwide interests but also the hearts and minds of Tasmanians who provided a wonderful and warm welcome to the President and Madam Peng, and to all those who came to our state. And it is indeed the reason why we are so keen to return to China, as I will lead a delegation in the coming weeks to renew those friendships, and to establish even greater connections that we made during that historic visit last year, when we signed important agreements that strengthen our cultural and economic ties, that enhance the relationship between the University of Tasmania or our important Antarctic sector, that ensure that we will receive even more visitors to the state from China over coming years, as our tourism industry and hospitality sector are already welcoming so many with such enthusiasm. And it’s wonderful to know that we have even greater opportunities to see further investments in energy or agriculture and fisheries, and indeed across so many aspects of our community. Those relationships were very much strengthened last year.
那确实是一个最为历史性的时刻，我相信它不仅是吸引了全世界的兴趣，亦是牵引著塔州人民的心，塔州人民对习主席及彭夫人，以及他们的随行人员的到访，作出了热情而美好的款待。这就是为什么我们那么热衷于回访中国的原因，我将带领代表团在未来数周出访中国，以延续现有的友谊，并建立比去年历史性访问期间所建立的更深刻的联系。在历史性访问时，我们签署了重要的契约，加强我们文化及经济的连结，增进塔州大学以及我们重要的南极部门的关系；这确保在未来年月中迎接更多的中国旅客来到我们的州，而我们我们旅游酒店业现时已经热情地接待了众多中国旅客。很美好的是目睹在能源、农业或鱼业方面，以及在我们的社会中许多方面，都有更多的投资机会。这些关系在去年都被大大地增强了。
But this year then, in the Year of the Ram, it is wonderful to see that it could in fact be better, as the Year of the Ram promises us an even better 2015, it’s hard to imagine that can be so, but I am sure on behalf of the people of Tasmania, certainly the government of Tasmania want to do everything we can to strengthen those important relationships which are growing each and every day and which are highlighted tonight in this most special occasion.
但在今年的羊年之中，很美好的是能够看到前景可能将更好，因为羊年带给我们的承若就是更好的2015年。这是很难想象的，但我肯定，作为塔州人的代表，而当然作为塔州政府的代表，我们希望力所能及地增强那些每天都在发展，并在今晚这最特别的盛会之中被强调的重要关系。
And I want to thank you Master Wang, and to the members of your foundation and institute, for bringing us together to celebrate this most historic occasion with you all tonight, to wish you and indeed the Chinese community more broadly, a fantastic 2015, that is indeed filled with greater wisdom and greater purpose and prosperity and a brighter future for us as Tasmanians and those Chinese who live and work amongst us
我也希望感谢您， 王师尊，以及您的基金会及学院的成员，让我们共聚一堂，与您们诸位共庆这最为历史性的时刻。祝愿您和更广泛的中国社团美好的2015年。这对我们塔州人和在我们当中生活和工作的华人而言，确实是更充满智慧、更富有意义、更繁荣、更前程光明的一年。
And to say to you all, it’s a great honour to be here this evening, and can I simply just say “xin nian kuai le”.
我要跟大家说声：今晚来到这里，是巨大的荣幸，请让我简单地说声“新年快乐”。
