一大群群眾昨天戴著聖誕帽和雨傘聚集來參與Myer Hobart聖誕遊行【註一】。 

With their Christmas hats on and umbrellas up, a huge crowd gathered for the Myer Hobart Christmas Pageant yesterday. 

數以千計的家庭沿著城市路線的每一寸排列，尋找最有利位置來觀看。 

Thousands of families lined every inch of the city route, looking for the best vantage point to see the parade. 

每一個孩子都在微笑、跳舞和［向遊行花車］揮手。 

Every child was smiling, dancing and waving. 

Argyle和Collins街道充滿著觀眾，這令到Liverpool街變成最容易獲得前排［觀看］位置的地方。 

Argyle and Collins streets were packed with onlookers, which made Liverpool St the easiest spot for a front-row position. 

這是［塔］州最大的聖誕遊行和非常受歡迎的傳統，色彩繽紛的社團花車、精彩的舞蹈隊伍和音樂，受到成年和兒童的歡迎。 

It is the state's largest Christmas parade and a hugely popular tradition, delighting adults and children with colourful community floats, spectacular dance processions and music.. 

由皇家Hobart醫院的兒童病人剪彩為遊行開幕的傳統今年仍然繼續，由Edwin Jack、Sarah Noble和Georgia Garry獲得這［剪彩的］光榮。 

The tradition of children who are patients at the Royal Hobart Hospital cutting the ribbon to start the pageant was continued this year with Edwin Jack, Sarah Noble and Georgia Garry doing the honours. 

超過五十個參賽者化裝娛眾，包括社團組織、商家、俱樂部和學校組織。 

More than 50 entries dressed to entertain, including community groups, businesses, clubs and school groups. 

新的參賽者包括城市罪犯旱冰女孩和Delta Peter伙伴［組織］與他們的狗醫生。 

New entries included a dozen skating women called the Convict City Roller Girls and the Delta Peter Partners with their therapy dogs. 

令人興奮的最大的壓軸戲是聖誕老人的來臨。 

The thrilling grand finale was the arrival of Santa Claus. 

今年的驚喜是對星球大戰反派角色Darth Vader，收到聖誕老人之後第二名最大的歡呼聲，［歡呼聲］大部份來自小男孩。 

A surprise this year was the reaction to Star Wars villain Darth Vader, who received the second biggest cheer of the day after Santa, mostly from little boys. 

［Hobart］市長Rob Valentine說這是遊行的29年歷史中最佳參與者的一次遊行。 

Lord Mayor Rob Valentine said it was one of the best attendances in the pageant's 29-year history. 

“這真是一個對孩子來說多麼美好的優秀傳統，”他說。 

"It's such a great tradition that's just so fabulous for the kids," he said.
