    慶祝全世界各宗教移動的增長。認識關於宗教和靈性社團的滿懷希望的努力（由國際多宗教組織──世界宗教國會委員會支持的合夥城巿網絡──包括遺產合夥城巿芝加哥、開普頓、巴塞羅納和蒙特雷以及2009年首個合夥城巿美國加州聖何塞活躍支持）。知道關於創立〝聯合國十年多宗教與多文化對話〞之努力；為和平而了解與團結。一起來給予2009年Paul Carus奬的得奬者對國際宗教移向的突出貢獻的榮譽。
Celebrate the growing global interreligious movement. Learn about the hope-filled efforts of religious and spiritual communities, actively supported by international interreligious organisations, the Council for a Parliament of the World’s ReligionsPartner Cities Network, including the Legacy Partner Cities of Chicago, Capetown, Barcelona and Monterrey and the 2009 Inaugural Partner City San Jose, California, USA.   Find out about the efforts to establish a United Nations Decade of Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue, Understanding and Cooperation for Peace. Join in honouring the 2009 recipient of the Paul Carus Award for outstanding contributions to the international interreligious movement.

    Canon Gideon Byamugisha是一名烏干達教堂的任命牧師。在1992年，他成為了第一名公開宣佈他的愛滋病病態的非洲宗教領袖。從此，他畢生投入於愛滋病部門──這把他帶到超過40個非洲撒哈拉沙漠效區的國家和全世界。
Canon Gideon Byamugisha is an ordained priest in the Church of Uganda. In 1992, he became the first African religious leader to openly declare his HIV-status and has since devoted his life to an AIDS ministry that has taken him to over 40 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and around the world.
 
 
    Paul Carus奬的目的，是為了承認、給以榮譽、祝賀和肯定那些支持國際多宗教移動的突出的工作，以及帶來一個更公平、和平與穩定的世界之宗教和靈性的人士、社團及機構之努力。
The Paul Carus Award seeks to recognise, honour, celebrate and affirm outstanding work in support of the international interreligious movement and the efforts of religious and spiritual individuals, communities and organisations towards a more just, peaceful and sustainable world.
